This month’s OotS is the Sweetgale Fen, along with their Field Notebook and Dragonfly Wings! This month’s coat and items were created by Myla. You may purchase this set in the Out of the Shadows shop through the end of the month!

Spring is taking root in every corner of the Cave, and as the sweet scent of fresh greens begins to fill the air, Bruc is preparing another seasonal stock rotation. If you had your eye on the Little Nisse, Snow Day, or any other Winter Seasonal mushroom, be sure to purchase it before March 20th, when Bruc sets out his Spring collection!

February’s Creative Collective has drawn to a close! Thank you to everyone who created a submission, engaged in a roleplay, or offered some feedback this past month. The raffle has been drawn and a new prompt has been posted!

Additionally, a new item has been added to the Bag of Wonders! These Gambler’s Dice are enchanted so that you’ll never lose a game (and are thought to be modeled after the favorite set of a certain cheating pirate). They were created by Myla!

The guidelines for the Roleplay Circle have also been updated to state that roleplay posts that occur within an adventure can be used towards participation!

In response to adventuring becoming so popular with Mycenians these days, the Creative Collective has decided to open up another branch! This branch of the Creative Collective is geared towards those who create adventures (roleplaying within adventures should be submitted to the Roleplay Circle).

Going forward, the Adventuring Circle will follow the same schedule as the other Creative Circles. For this month, however, we welcome you to submit any adventure building you’ve done since open beta began towards your participation!

The open beta of our new Adventure System is in full swing! You can read up on the system and what you can do to participate in this thread. Open beta runs through the end of the day on March 10th, so be sure to earn your feathers while you can!

 

The Season of Connections has once again come to a close. Peent has packed up her little shop and flitted away once more, and all of the Valentine-themed gift envelopes have been tucked away until next year. Many new Lovestruck Drasillis have joined Mycenian society, drawn forth by the Cave’s collective sweet sentiments, and all is cheery and bright as spring approaches!

I meant to buy more break-up make up though…I really love that and am kicking myself over it. wish they were in usershops >__> oh well hopefully I can stock up next year.

Hey question! Regarding the priorities mentioned in the Jan news discussion, are they all on hold while Adventuring is worked on? Or are they being worked on as well? Asking because I’m super excited to see some of these come to fruition, and I’d love to have an estimate!

Chimerical glitch has been working on the interface updates (behind-the-scenes updates making it easier for e.g. artists to collaborate) while waiting on the Open Beta feedback, and there is a small chance he’ll get to some of the game-related updates before digging into the Adventure System feedback updates depending on how quickly/how many of the interface updates we do (we have a large list but are only prioritizing ~3 - 4 for this round of updates).

Once we sort out what updates we’re doing on the Adventure System, that will be prioritized until we get it into a state where we can do a full release. Ideally, we’d release something alongside that to encourage its use besides just the nuggets you get from posting (like a badge system type thing.. this idea is still very hazy and in development), but we may put that on hold to move forward with the game updates and marketplace updates depending on how complex that idea ends up being and what sounds more appealing for glitch to work on. :D

I apologize that I can’t give specific time frames for this stuff other than to tell you the planned order—for much of it, it’s hard to estimate how much time it’ll take given the specifics of the updates are still pretty nebulous and also that glitch works on this stuff when he has free time outside of his full time job on top of stuff we have hard deadlines on and can’t ignore (like spring event)!
