Santa’ees who do not wish to give out their name and/or address (or who would simply prefer a digital present) may select a “digital presents only” option. If you’re a Santa and you want to send someone a physical present, we’ll do our best to match you with someone who has not selected this option, but of course we can’t guarantee it. Every year, lack of regular contact with your Santa or Santa’ee is the largest source of anxiety and most frequent cause of messages to staff about the activity. Don’t be a hard-to-reach Santa or a disinterested Santa’ee. Please keep the comms open, send your counterparts messages to let them know you’re thinking about them, and respond to messages promptly. Quietly stresses out about signing up. Deadlines are scary. But also should be fun. Has ideas, hmm… Frantic scribbling of notes. e/ My computer screen died because of course it did. So gotta cancel joining this year. First time I was gonna get to santa someone and technology nopes on me. Sad, I wanted to make a thing.

Ack so I haven’t done this in a few years… ^^; last time I sent a gift thru the post, and the parcel wound up stuck in a parcel room for several months! I do have a question—I prefer to send gifts in the post, but when it comes to international shipping, I do get nervous because of customs and the time it takes for things to arrive. Is there any way to ensure that I’m gifting to someone also in the US?

Chimerical When you go to the page to sign up, there is a checkbox to indicate you feel able to ship internationally. I would expect not checking that box keeps you from being included in the international Santaees who want parcel presents pools. Or it may at least select you for one who also is open to digital presents.

Awww yissss Secret Santa :D My body is ready! Also I know events take a lot of work but it would be so nice if SS could start like a week or two earlier in the future since sending physical gifts across the world may take more than that two weeks. Especially near Christmas.

Could someone on staff please double check that I successfully removed myself from the SS participant list? I hit the button to cancel my submission and the Secret Santa link disappeared from the top on my screen, but I’m feeling paranoid that it didn’t go through. I’m not going to be able to meet the deadlines for it this year due to some medical things that have come up in the last week or so.
