The voice behind you is full of urgency, and you turn around to see Marcy waving wildly at you with his pitchfork. He’s carrying a rather large pumpkin too, using his other paw to balance it against his side, and he seems to be having trouble with it. You hurry over, and as soon as you get close, Marcy starts to lose his grip on the pumpkin. Between the two of you, you manage to transfer it safely into your arms.
“Thanks,” he says, adjusting his straw hat. He looks at you for a long moment. “Now, I have an important task for you.”
You nod. You’ve just been out to sea defeating monsters and collecting booty! You’re up to the task, whatever it may be.
“I know you’ve all been busy,” Marcy says, “but now’s when things really pick up. It’s harvest time, after all. We have traditions to see to.” He points out at the fields with his pitchfork. “We’ve already brought most of the crops in. It’s almost all spoken for, but I made sure to set aside some of the best so we can celebrate the season properly.”
Marcy turns back to you with a certain gleam in his eyes. “It’s time,” he says, nodding at the pumpkin you’re holding, “to carve pumpkins.”

Mine is the cat one. I also helped my daughter carve the spaghetti squash, haha. There…there aren’t a lot of pumpkin options at the store two days before Halloween, I found out…
