Name: Larabella

Larabella is a mermaid with a fascination with human fashion, particularly makeup, though she still struggles to find makeup that doesn’t wash off as soon as she tries go anywhere. Turns out nearly all makeup tends to wash away when submerged in water for long periods of time. This doesn’t deter Larabella though, as she considers attempting to solve that problem to be part of the fun. She also enjoys the concept of Jewelry, much like her friend Kalysta, though she prefers more brightly colored coral-esque accessories over the enchanted pearls worn by Kalysta. Like Kalysta, her scales also shift hues depending on the water parameters.

Name: Little Koi

Wind. Mountains. The wide blue sky.

Little Koi had always dreamed of flying–proper flying, with a nice strong breeze beneath her wings, not the sort of flying in dreams that ended with you plummeting after just a hop and a skip up from the ground. There was no heart-in-your-throat moment of panic, oh no. She spread her feathered wings wide and soared over forests and rivers and towns, her shadow just a tiny thing beneath her, hardly visible at all from the heights through which she sailed. She didn’t own the sky, but that was only because the sky couldn’t be owned. She lived in it, spent all her waking (dreaming) moments in it, loved it with all her soul.

And such was the dream that each morning upon waking, the little koi would have to reacquaint herself with her fins and her tail and the scales instead of feathers down her sides. And one might wonder: is this not heartbreaking? Does she not yearn for the sky up above?

But the pond is blue, too, and its floor is rocky like a mountaintop. She drifts between the lilies and basks in the sun, and at night, she dreams of flying.

Name: Elaine

Elaine loves the sea more than any other thing. Walking along the beach is her happy place and a warm sea breeze her greatest comfort. She spends several days a week beachcombing, and has made a career out of it by turning the shells and seaglass she finds into jewellery and crafts which she sells as souvenirs to the passing tourists from a cute little stall she sets up on the sand. If it’s very hot, she’ll also drag out a cooler to make sure everyone can get a cold drink when the sun gets high!

Name:Avery
Avery is a protector of the floating Moonspring Island and all those who live upon the island’s soil. she teaches the next generation how to wield and craft spears, forging the the next link in ancestral tradition. Her favorite time of year is the Lotus Lantern Festival, but with it comes her greatest foe, Teddy, the wind lizard. For Teddy delights in one thing above all else, tearing apart the lotus lanterns the festival is named for.
