“Something’s fishy,” you think to yourself as you wake up, stretching your fins with a satisfying swish. Wait… fins? You blink, or at least, that’s what you meant to do. It feels instinctual but there’s nothing there to blink with. No eyelids. Huh. The world around you ripples gently, the morning light dancing across the surface of the water above you. Strange. You don’t remember falling asleep in a pond.
You paddle forward, your tail flicking behind you instinctively. That’s weird. Since when did you have a tail? The sounds around you are distorted with a distinctly aquatic quality, filled with the gurgle of a nearby waterfall and the occasional bloop of bubbles floating lazily upward.
Other Mycenians are already swimming about, their scales shimmering with vibrant colors. Someone glides past you, their mouth opening and closing wordlessly before they dart off, chased by a particularly determined-looking Cave Trout. Off in the distance, a cluster of koi appear to be having a very serious conversation about the proper way to beg for food from the shadowy figures looming above the water’s edge.
You shake your head—er, whole body, really—trying to rid yourself of the strange haze of morning grogginess. Everything seems perfectly normal. Probably just one of those mornings where you’re feeling a little out of depth. Maybe you’ll grab some breakfast, do a few lazy loops around the pond, and see if anyone wants to play a round of tail tag.

These Koi images are so funny xD! I hope they end up in more wearable items in the future! I love the water so I’m enjoying my new Koi life style!

Normally I am no fan of April Fool’s but you always outdo yourselves here in Mycena Koive ^=^. I also appreciate the. toggle to be able to undo the affects early. For now, my profile is serene .... swish, swish….
....oh, and as a retired fish keeper, fish do ‘blink’... sorta. When they yawn or blink, their eyes will do a downward or upward motion, mostly downwards.
