Sao and Fornax

—  the oracle and the experimenter

Met one day when Fornax was messing around with chemicals and Sao saw him. Sao had been warned the day before of an upcoming explosion and death, and realized what was going to happen. He ran over just in time to grab Fornax from behind as the chemicals reacted and exploded. Sao was able to get away with just minor burns and cuts, while Fornax got more severe injuries. His right wing- the closest to the explosion- that he used to try and shield himself was severely burned and he had to get it amputated. His eyes with were cut up by the glass the explosion sent flying, but luckily his vision was safe and he just ended up with cuts around his eyes- mostly his left. His legs were also burned and cut up by the glass that ended up on the ground. Sao just barely saved his life and once he had been bandaged and cleared, he visited Fornax at the hospital. Fornax was awake but hopped up on painkillers and thanked him before rambling on about the experiment he had been doing and about what must have gone wrong and how he was going to have to try again. Sao was horrified and didn’t want the life he saved to go to waste so he offered to help oversee future experiments. Sao regrets that most days and acts like he hates it- he’s basically babysitting a man older than him- but really he loves Fornax now and doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him.Even if it means babysitting a grown man
