This year, Santa got me:
- a mug with binary all over it, that when it gets hot the binary for “HOT” turns white
- some amazing smelling loose leaf tea
- a nerdpen that is also a laser pointer and flashlight and stylus and UV light so I can get a tan
- a bunch of treats

Lilael; Yes, if you’ve bought someone a gift on Mycena, you can use the profile’s anonymous gifting function. The only exception is Custom Credit; if you’d like to buy them Custom Credit, that can also be done anonymously now through the Custom Credit purchasing page :)
If you’re a Santa that’s sent the present but the Santa-ee has not marked it off yet, their ‘I have not received a present’ button will activate. I believe regardless of whether they do or do not press it we’ll be looking into the situation, and if you have in fact sent your present via the site, we’ll be able to see it :) If you sent your present physically, well, that’s why we asked for track & trace codes ;) As long as you’ve actually sent the present (on-site or with a track&trace code), you’re absolutely fine. (We’re aware people can forget to press the “I’ve received my present!” button, in fact, Myla had to be reminded by glitch to press it herself :P) Please don’t worry!
If you’re a Santa with a Santa-ee that hasn’t logged on in weeks, please contact glitch. If they simply have not replied, but do log on, chances are they have not seen the message. In that case, just use your best judgment to buy/make them something :)
If you’re a Santa-ee that has not yet been contacted by their Santa, don’t be alarmed just yet. There are always Santas that don’t talk to their Santa-ees, Santas that don’t ask for wishlists, and Santas that don’t even use wishlists at all to begin with — and it’s in their full right to do so :) Additionally, they might just want to send their present to you on an actual Christmas day :D If you haven’t received a present by then, the ‘I have not received a present’ button will activate, you can let us know your Santa hasn’t sent you anything and we’ll look into the situation. Do not be alarmed, you will receive a present either way! Staff are very willing, loving Santas for everyone :3
Please be aware that our darling admins are away over the holidays to visit relatives, so replies from them may be a little delayed :) If you have a specific case or question, you’re welcomed to echo me, too <3!

This is just a thought, but if anyone is simply gifting anonymously through the profile gifting function as a Santa it might really be a good idea to send a Santa mail (which is also anonymous) confirming that the gift was SS related. I know people here sometimes get random gifts from other users anyway, since people are so generous, and I would imagine that is particularly true around the holiday season. It’s a bit hard to know what came from your Santa and what was just a random gift if your Santa doesn’t contact you.
I actually had/am having this problem currently. I received a mushroom via random gift but I don’t know if it was from my Santa or not. They had contacted me before so I figured if it was them they’d mention it via Santa mail but I haven’t heard from them in a while. I would imagine others might experience this problem as well if gifts are sent without messages (and I honestly don’t even know if they can be sent with messages) and without a follow-up Santa mail.

Lilael / doragon: You can remind them by Santa-mail if you want to get it out of the way, but don’t worry about it too much. We’ll follow up carefully before marking anyone as an unresponsive Santa. No need to be nervous :)
Niri: *hugs*. If it makes you feel any better, your new potential Santa is excited!
As for unresponsive / not-logging-in santa/santaees, I’ve actually already followed up with all of them (there’s only two ^^). Once the 24th rolls around and they’re officially non-responders, we’ll sort out the 3-4 of you affected, either by reassigning if gifts have not been given yet, or by staff jumping in as emergencysantas.
And as LoyalWolf says, santa-mailing your Santa-ee to let them know that the anonymous gift they got was their present is a good idea. In retrospect that would have been a good thing to automate… still, good learning experience for me for next year! :)

I got my gift in the mail! It came all the way from Australia :D!!
The card says:

The canned crocodile was actually sealed and I had to open it with a can opener. I thought it was interesting because the US would never have a toy that could be potentially hazardous. I guess we don’t trust our children… or something. It was really cute container for a plush. Apparently I had to use it by January 26th, 3001 (according to the label).
The candies I got were…
Wizz Fizz Original Sherbet, Allen’s Fantales Chewy Caramel, Minties & Raspberry Redskins, and Lifesavers with the flavors of Fruit Tingles & Musk.
Trying the musk flavor was really neat experience since I’ve never encountered something like that here. I love trying new foods, so this was really rad. (I personally like the flavor~)
I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into my gift, Santa <3
(Then they sent me a Pondshroom, Feather Necklace, Onyx + Silver Stud Earrings since the package took a while to get here. You are way too nice to me ;;)
