Myla i know it can’t exactly be changed now, i’m just… sad about it, i guess. i was hoping for a warmer-colored sprout, and i know i can drift it but it would’ve been nice to find a trade instead.

Gonna echo the above posts. Maybe those hues WOULDN’T look good, but someone like me would take a red or an orange over a pukey yellow-green haha. Plus I’m sure there’d be someone out there who did genuinely enjoy the colors. Plus I love seeing a bunch of different colors when I flip through the coat’s tab and without the reds and stuff it’s a lot more boring. Obviously that’s a personal problem, but I’m still sad :<

(edit: I edited my post here because I originally called the reason “trivial”, but I think that’s just how I see it, and it’s probably pretty non-trivial to other people who didn’t want the ruddy-coloured pets). Is this the first time random prize mechanics have been manipulated? Was it done with EoLs or other stuff before?

Myla I’m not too worried about the choice to select colors out of the mix (maybe next time also snag a bit out of the yellow-green drifts/a few more shades of green) and I know you usually don’t take suggestions but!!! Maybe for the next drifty pet in the far future, it could arrive with the actual drift button? :0 That’d be really neat I think, and with the effort you’d have to put in with an event like the RP event, I think it’d be a neat little thing! In the meantime I’m eagerly scooping up as many unwanted babies as I can… I Love…........

When designing a coat, our artists use their experience, judgement, and often touch upon color theory in order to design a color palette for the coat. Typically we release coats with one available color scheme, although this time we released several ranges of colors. As with any pet, if you would like to experiment with unreleased hues, you are welcome to use a driftshroom. Jacq There has been exactly one other time in which we have released pets in multiple colors, which was the Essence of Love. In that instance, the coat was designed with all possible hues in mind, so we drew from the entire hue spectrum in the initial release.

Jacq Unless I’m missing something (I am admittedly tired), she did answer your question. The only way they manipulated this at all was just to exclude certain hues - this manipulation type would only have been an option with the essence of love pets (and mabel, of course, but mabel is designed like the EoL). She said they specifically designed those to work with all hues, so they included all hues in their release - thus, didn’t withhold any colors. I think it might be best to see how the final coat looks. There might be edits in the baby or adult forms that aren’t hinted at in its flower form that might clash terribly in those excluded hues - and while that might be desirable to the right people, it also potentially puts users that get them in a really difficult position where they might find it incredibly aesthetically displeasing and have a very difficult time trading it for the colors that don’t clash. Those users could feel like they were cheated in a way - they worked on the event to get the pet, only to have it grow into something like they can’t stand looking at just because their drift doesn’t work well, and can’t even get a trade for because only a handful of users would be interested in oddball color combos.

Diglett My question was “Is this the first time random prize mechanics have been manipulated?” - and I didn’t receive a yes or a no - just reassurance that, in the specific case of the EoLs, they used all hues. I didn’t read that as necessarily meaning that none of them were “rerolled” for any user for any reason - nor did I read it as a reassurance that the site hasn’t previously manipulated the random mechanics for other prizes. So I’m just gonna step back and think about this a little bit more, I think, and try to give more benefit of the doubt.

^ That’s kind of rude to people who might like those colours. The peacock spider coat has a similar palette, and even though lots of people don’t like it, it still has its fans. edit: (different shades for different beyblades? beyblades are what the cool kids are into, right?)

Not trying to be sassy, but was the drifted aspect of the coat like an afterthought? I can’t wait to see them all grow<3 And I hope I can get my hands on one!

I definitely think the browns that were locked out are more niche than the colors that they did end up releasing, so there might’ve been a complaint either way, haha. Anyways, at least it’s possible to manually drift to the colors that were locked. One day, Swamp Ketchup Color…one day…
