I have the same strategy as glitch, it works well as long as you need one of each color but it doesn’t work too well to be too easy. I love the potion bottles, must collect them all, once they are possible to get. I have a question/suggestion about the undecided potion drops, will they still drop after you have finished your nuggets quota for the day?

So there are going to be rare potion item drops in this game? I think it would be fair if other games would get rare drops too then, not everyone likes this game after all. c:

Yes I definitely feel like the grace value is a little too low.  I had one game where no matter how I looked at it the colors looked exactly the same. :<

[@Zick3]  I was trying to think of like, what the drops would be in the other games.  Like, Cave In you’d get rocks… Spellstones you’d also probably get rocks… Sudoku you don’t get anything for anyway…. Then I got to Echolocation and wasps.

No no no no no. No wasps. No please. I already deal with them in real life, no fake ones buzzing around my pets please.

But honestly getting mushroom drops from Mushroom Meals would be pretty sweet! They could be handheld or a combination of background or foreground items? Mushrooms that sprout on the ground near a pet, or a steaming plate of mushroom… something? Casserole, salad, soup… Darcy might not appreciate it though. 8D

Or more mining tools for Cave In, letters or a dictionary or tiles for Spellstones. I see a lot of potential. Not that I would have any idea why the games would award drops. It would be really nice though.

Glad to know my input isn’t appreciated uwu. I must be imagining things!

I think wasps would be cute :D. Too bad I don’t play echolocation much haha. Little dictionaries for Spellstones would be so cute - I’d love those! Though implementing drops into Spellstones would be pretty awkward I imagine haha. Would they drop between letters? When you finish the game?

Either way, I’m super stoked for Potion Master drops! 8D

I’ve had that happen to me when I actually did run out in the previous round but was clicking really fast and started the next round, but it ends up as the same round as the one I just lost. except I can usuallyy get it correct the second time around but it’ll tell me I failed haha (since I didn’t let it register that I ran out on the previous one?)


Oh so there /is/ a grace value. I knew there were a few times that I thought it was still a little off but it started verifying. Thought maybe I was just starting to see things. Either way I’m always happy when the verifying comes up. Sometimes I’m like reallyy close to my screen and tilting it at work during my break periods. I don’t know what the other teachers think I’m doing. |D The ones that use up all 5 of one or two colors always make me the most nervous too.

Eyry That’s possible. I remember that it didn’t happen with the round I screenshotted, but it did happen in the previous round where I clicked through too fast and got the same round twice (as in, the previous two rounds were different colors than the one I screen captured, but the same color as each other). Maybe that carried over.

Hina HA that got a good chuckle from me xD refreshing the game didn’t solve the issue, but i went back a few minutes later and it was normal, so maybe it was just my end, dunno ;;

Let me say first i don’t ever wanna play this many games of potions master in a sitting again even though i really love it! i know the 10 nuggets is just a low incentive-payout, for now, but i hope it’s quite a bit higher in the final release. Even though it is a really fun game and pretty engaging while still being laid-back, not to mention beautiful to look at, the eye strain got pretty bad for me at about 1000 nuggets in, and the rest probably took me much longer than it should have because i was making tons of mistakes due to being squinty. I think the dark background helps to reduce strain, but it’s still bad after a few hundred games.

However! I’m really happy to say that the playing experience is smooth for the most part, and the glitches i experienced are minor and not too disruptive. Now that i’m better at the game, I think the difficulty level is just right- there’s the odd time I get 3 shades of pink but it feels extra good to get it right, and besides, if I could win every single game it wouldn’t be a challenge. The glitch I experienced persistently was the one described by people above me. As far as I can tell, it’s triggered when you use up the left and right potions and then click through the middle one to use up your potions, and then when the popup comes up you click through it too quickly? You get the same colors as before and it will sometimes tell you that you ran out of ingredients when you solve it correctly and before you’re actually out of ingredients. Other times it’ll actually pay you out the second time. I’d say I maybe encountered this 15-20 times today by mistake (i tried to replicate it on purpose a few times and it’s actually pretty easy).

The other glitch I encountered, although much less often, is sometimes when clicking an ingredient a couple times and then switching to another color, it would continue to use the color before it. IE. i click green 3 times, green count reduced by 3. I click pink 1 time, pink count does not decrease, green count reduced by an additional 1. I thought the first couple times maybe my mouse was over the boundary/‘hitbox’ for the middle potion and i clicked the one next to it by mistake, but then it happened once where I clicked the rightmost potion and the leftmost one’s count went down. I haven’t been able to replicate this one on purpose.

Okay, so agreement with everyone else on there should be greater leniency, because uh…sometimes it’s just impossible to figure out there’s a color difference. xP

Anyways, just wanted to mention I get the “oh no, you’ve run out of ingredients” pop up every time I get the thing right? The “congrats one” over lays it after.

I play on Safari, and I have yet to be able to see the “Oh no you ran out of ingredients” sign. ): Occasionally a blank box pops up and I’ve learned to click the button, but I have no idea if I won or lost. (I’m assuming lost because no matter how hard I try, the colors never seem to completely match up… XD )

Also, are the bottles supposed to slowly lose potions, to show how many turns I have left? Or anything to show when my next click will be the ‘game over’ icon? I’d love to know how close I am to losing, but I can’t spot anywhere that currently does that.

LaraAelric  To show how close you are to losing, there are supposed to be numbers below each potion bottle.  When the numbers all reach 0, it’s game over (they start at 5).  I’m guessing the numbers aren’t there for you?

Also, wow, the bubble is so big now!  I was taken aback at first but hey, anything that makes it easier to see the colors is a good addition.

@LaraAelric - This is going to sound super-dumb in lieu of what I’m about to mention BUT.

The second picture you sent in is veeery slightly off-color from the middle stripe. I have crazy good vision for colors and also use a trick of jacking up my brightness and tilting the screen to look for imperfections. In that way, I found your color stripe to need some reddish (or in this case purple as it’s your only option) love.

THAT SAID.

I do the brightness up-ing and the screen-tilting, and usually it tells me if I’m just…very subtly off on my colors. But…there’s been at least 3 instances where I’d get the color to blend evenly in the cloud from every angle, and even still, I manage to not get an endscreen. Next time it happens (if it does), I’ll screencap it, because the game’s new enough that I’m sure there’s probably some bugs wiggling around.

I don’t know if anyone has said, but THANK YOU FOR INCREASING THE SIZE OF THE BUBBLE!!!!!!!! I can actually get a winning streak now without having to resort to photoshop to tell that the strip is different. There are still some that are tricky, but that’s okay. Now it seems far more balanced with an distinct difficulty curve between potions, instead of previously when I was losing every other game from not being able to tell there’s a difference in color.

recently had a thought
I have no idea how coding things works so I’m uncertain about the feasibility, but I was thinking it’d be great to be able to use the keyboard to play instead of moving the mouse and clicking. say like…using the letters J K L for each of the ingredient colors or something.
I am probably just getting lazy about having to click since I play mindlessly/quickly enough that moving the mouse is the most effort I put have to in and is now my slow factor. haha

Safari still doesn’t show words for Potion master…
I know this is an issue that’s come up in the past, but I don’t know if anything has been tried to fix it?

Unfortunately it’s not a Safari issue, and doesn’t manifest on any safari installs that I have access to. From things I can find online it seems that it may be a font caching issue, but I have no idea how to tackle that or how to get your browser to clear its font cache. Not being able to reproduce it or find any information on what may be causing it makes this issue one that I don’t really have a path towards fixing :(

Thorne No, sorry! The item descriptions are a separate thing entirely, and the reason they updated recently is because I am finally catching up on them :D;
